AMMOLITE BUTTERFLY PIN

PIC669  "AMMOLITE BUTTERFLY PIN".  One of a kind Hand built Pin in Fine Silver, Sterling Silver, 18KY Gold and an Ammolite flat Cabochon.   Ammolites are rare and an opal-like gemstone from the fossilized shells of Amonites that lived and died with the Dinosaurs.   This particular gem weighs 10.61 Ct and measures(23mm x 18mm) it comes comes from British Columbia, however, I brough it back from one of my trips home to Switzerland...

It has a beautiful play of color of several greens, some blue, teal and dark gold tones.   The pin is a Tie tack type with a hidden round clutch in the back.
