Color has always been a source of joy and energy for me,
whether it is in painting or jewelry making. Painting with pastel or oil is a direct
approach that is fulfilling my desire to create and work freely with
color. I find inspiration in everything beautiful
in nature or by reflecting on my own thoughts and dreams.
When creating a piece of jewelry, I often start by choosing
an inspiring colored stone. I focus on high end one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry.
Some of my pieces have a hidden side or a movable part, like my double-faced
pendants. My customers, here in the US
and abroad in Switzerland and Japan know I like to create custom and
personalized pieces incorporating any of their own ideas. I get a feel for discovering what would fit
the personality and style of the wearer and have made many unique pieces in my studio in Mount Vernon.
I am a native of the French part of Switzerland and graduated from
L’Ecole d’art appliqué of La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland as a professional
goldsmith in 1979. I worked as a
goldsmith in Geneva Switzerland for Patek Philippe then Bucherer, before moving
to Mount Vernon, WA in 1985.
Picked up my ring today and I couldn't be happier with the beautiful work done by Marie-Claire! The ruby had been a favorite aunt's and having it re-set in a ring crafted by an artist was a special birthday present from my best friend. Marie-Claire met with us and listened to our thoughts on design. She drafted a couple of designs for my review and we settled on a design. I love the simple elegance of my ring and the way it fits my style. I will wear it proudly and it will be a treasured heirloom. Thank you so much, Marie-Claire!
